So I've finally got my uni assignment done! Yay! That means this time next week, I'll be finished for the summer, WOO HOO!

Back to other things I'm really excited about tomorrow as
there is a big fundraiser taking place in Liverpool for Live Life Then Give Life! We are going to hand out lots of organ donor leaflets and hopefully sign a few people up as well! It is held annually in memory of a special young man called Ste Tighe who you can read about here. The event is called the Littlewoods Ste Tighe 5-a-side football tournament and has featured in a local article which can be seen here.

All the funds raised will be going to Live Life Then Give Life, last year they raised £3500 so hopefully we'll be able to match it tomorrow! The local press will probably be involved too which will be good. Another exciting thin about tomorrow is that I will finally get to meet up with Emma and Emily the people who run LLTGL, I talk to them so much and feel I know them yet we have never even met, so that will be fun!

Anyway will let you know how it goes and how much we raise for a great cause!

My arm is completely back to normal now!!! Can't believe there was no bruising whatsoever!

Had a great week so far in placement, done some sewing with the kids which was fun! All I've got to do now is write a 2,600 word report on my time in placement talking about how I met my targets that I set before I started! I wish they'd just let you enjoy your placement and not have the stress of making you write about it!

There was a major catastrophy on Tuesday, my beloved pink smart car got bashed in the carpark at work! I thought that was bad, but what was even worse was the fact the person that did it, left a note with a bloody fake number!!!! GRRRR!!! Someone must have seen them do it so they didn't want to look like they were running off without leaving a note. I was (and still am) fuming about it! There are some CCTV cameras in the car park but I've got a feeling they won't have picked it up as there are trees obscuring the view! But it's worth looking into!

This is my pride and joy (before the crash) she is fondly known by my friends as "The Fairydust Mobile" as it has a sticker in the back windscreen saying "Powered by Fairydust".

I also sent off for an anniversary present for my bro and his wife and the envelope said "do not bend" and guess what the post man did!? bent it when he put it through the letter box!!!! So I'm going to complain and try and get some compensation for it, cos what was in it (I can't say in case my bro is reading this) Is damaged!!!

No other news really, dialysis has been fine, can't complain! Best get on with writing my report...

Last night on dialysis the nurse took my dressing off which was stuck like glue to my skin, my eyes were watering it was so sore when she was pulling it. I was left with a lovely red mark were the top layer of skin had come off. She then decided to clean it up by putting pink disinfectant fluid on it which stung like crazy!!!

The wound is just a hole were the tube was inserted, it didn't need any stitches so should just heal in a few days, I have a tiny plaster over it, as I was scared it would get dirt in it or get infected. My arm is fine today, no bruise and no pain which is great and I think warrants a shopping trip to the Trafford Centre, to look for some pink shoes to go with my outfit for a wedding I'm going to in a month (in Ireland)!

I got some Uni results back for some of my assignments yesterday and I'm pleased to say I have passed my 2nd year!!! Not worked out at what level yet, I think it may be a 2.1 I think, I find out on Monday for sure!

Anyway really pleased that the op wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be and I'm even thinking of going back to work placement on Monday! No other goss to tell really, other than I may have some exciting news to tell you soon to do with Live Life Then Give Life...

Watch this space.....

Not much news really... Dialysis is the same old same old, but I'm feeling good so I suppose I can't complain.

I had a great night out on Saturday, It was my Best Friends 21st Birthday! I went with her, her family and her fella to an Indian restaurant in Manchester called East Z East!
Indian food isn't really my cup of tea so I just had some Egg Pilau rice, a poppadom and some naan bread!

The bloke that owns the restaurant actually appeared on the last series of Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares (you might remember the odd looking naan bread stands that Gordon told him to get rid of). So Ramsey obviously helped him as he now has 3 restaurants altogether and seems to be doing well and still has the naan bread stands!!!

Other news... I've passed another uni assignment, so chuffed about that!

It's a....

Well.... we don't know the sex of the baby yet! It was a bit of an anti-climax, the baby was being awkward and wasn't in a position to be able to tell if it was a boy or girl! The radiographer said she thought it "might" be a girl but she wasn't 100% sure so we have to wait till 11th April to find out!

Nothing else significant to tell you, Uni work coming along nicely and dialysis has been going ok!

Have an appointment with my consultant next week, so will see how I am doing! Will let you know what he says!

Easter...

Hello everyone, sorry for the lack of updates hope you had a Happy Easter!

My Auntie came over from Northern Ireland for a week (she goes home tomorrow) so this has been nice, by the next time she comes over there will be a new addition to the family (my little niece or nephew), talking of which my sis-in-law is showing!!! This is really exciting, only 6 more days till we find out the sex of the baby!!!

So back to Easter, I had a lovely Easter Sunday, I spent the afternoon with my uni friends which was lovely, I’d not seen them in a couple of weeks because we’ve not been in uni. So we all went round to our friend Hanne’s she had started hiding the eggs for the Easter hunt, which was meant to be for her daughter Ellie but we were all just as excited! There were little arrows pointing to where the eggs were and we even had a little egg and spoon race then spent the rest of the afternoon chatting! Then I came home and had a lovely Sunday roast with the family Turkey and all the trimmings finished off with half an Easter Egg!!!

No other news really my arm is still sore and the bruise seems to be getting bigger and darker each day also the uni article is coming along well, not quite finished yet though! Got three more assignments due in on the next 3 Wednesdays so I better get my bum in gear and get some work done!

Right speaking of uni work I’d best get some done…

Everyday Life

Not much news really just been busy with boring old uni work, which seems to be paying off as I found out on Thursday that I passed another assignment with a mark of 73 which is a 1:1! So I’m chuffed about that!

So on the 21st April I’m starting a Work-Based Learning placement which I’m really excited about as well as a little nervous as I don’t know how my energy levels will cope. Uni has been very helpful and have sorted it out for me to do my placement over 10 weeks part time instead of 5 weeks full time. So I’m going to be working with 6 and 7 year olds in a primary school 2.5 days a week. I have my first meeting with the teacher tomorrow, so I’ll see what I’m letting myself in for.

So dialysis hasn’t been too bad, had a dodgy time a couple of days last week with my BP so my dry weight has been put up yet again, which (as usual) I’m not happy about. I also got my blood results back and they caught me as I’ve not been as good as I should be, I’m rubbish at remembering to take my renagels (phosphate binders) I hate taking tablets (I have a fear I might choke, which is practically impossible) These ones are quite big and I have to take them anytime I eat anything!!! Apart from that everything’s ok.

I am shattered tonight as today me and my folks looked after our friend’s little boy who is 20months, so I have spent the day playing trains, singing wind the bobbin up and twinkle twinkle little star and even managed a trip to the park to feed the ducks and play on the swing! Had a fun packed day running around after him, and now an early night for me I think…
